Write a Rule of Life / Part 3

Ora et labora, or where the prayerful meets the practical

Dear friends,

Autumn is often a time for inward introspection as we prepare for colder temperatures and longer nights. This invitation into reflection is worthy of our time, though it may grow stale if left without embodiment or the presence of community. Solomon, one of the wisest among humans, writes in Ecclesiastes God places eternity, imagination, and an appetite for mysteries untold into our hearts and yet, the daily minutiae remains. Children need to be comforted. Bills need to be paid. An important conversation waits for us. As we draw a close to this Rule of Life series (for now), we’ll discuss how to begin to practically integrate our relationship with the Eternal into day-to-day rhythms.

(If you’re just catching up, you can find parts one and two here.)
